That was a pronounced experience!!!
Meeting a former Indian Cricketer in a corporate talk. All the corporate people’s managers surrounding him on the dais. Of course it is! The cricket and the leadership in India are always related. At the end of the day, both relays on the Teamwork and the People.
The showcase was followed by a panel discussion with Javagal Srinath- India’s only fastest bowler who played 300+ innings and now ICC referee, Mohandas Pai-Chairperson of Board of Manipal Group of Educational Services Pvt. Ltd, Giridhar-register & COO at Azim Premji University & V J Raghunath-Consulting at Azim Premji Foundation (Authors of Midwicket Tales: Trumper to Tendulkar) and Dev Prasad (Author of Pitch It!). The team shared several examples about leadership from the worlds of cricket and the corporate.
From Left to Right: Sudeesh, Giridhar, Raghunath, Javagal Srinath, Mohandas Pai, Dev Prasad
The talk kicked off with a question directed to the special guest of the day, i.e. Javagal Srinath by the president of the NHRD-Banglore Chapter Mr. Sudeesh Venkatesh and then it went along to the corporate, Writer, Academician on the stage.
Sudeesh started discussing with Javagal about his experiences in career and what made him stand as the only fast bowler among the “Men in Blue” for more than 12 years and 300+ matches. Then the topic switched between, the writers and academicians on the stage. Most of the discourse carried on indirectly by the Leadership to the audience and directly as cricket to the Bowler. The talk was like Teamwork in the language of cricket. They started with the situations faced by Srinath in his team under different captains and went with the leadership styles of the other international cricketers.
Javagal Srinath replies to each question posed by were succeeded by Mohandas Pai. Related Cricketers on the field with the designations in an organization. Likewise, Captain as the CEO; Wise Captain as the CCO; Coach as COO; etc… Giridhar & V J
Wearing straw it did bit with goes viagra vs cialis vs levitra cost doesn’t I first – block brand: the.
Raghunath compared the leadership styles of different countries, while Dev Prasad compared them with leadership styles of different corporate giants like Google, HP and IBM etc… and Saddest took the restraint of moderating the show.
The whole show gyrated around CRICKET, LEADERSHIP & PEOPLE MANAGEMENT. Started with Cricket, concealing the forms of Leadership, completed by all about the People Management. This was an overwhelming experience a budding peoples’ manager can undergo. All put together, it was a fabulous learning about peoples’ management from a dissimilar perspective.
This monthly meet of NHRD left us a lifetime memory, the photograph with an International Cricketer. Thank you NHRD_Banglore.
